Managing Your Campers – Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up

One important job of the Site Administrator is facilitating a smooth and safe drop-off and pick-up process at the beginning and end of each camp day.

  1. Please ensure that the SOS (or you) have a camp bluetooth speaker outside playing camp music at morning dropoff each day. Please play only camp songs from the spotify playlist “AIW Camp Morning Check-in.” Please also remind the person who’s phone is used to play the music that they should either set it on top of/next to the speaker, or stay very close to the speaker at all times. If they go inside or step away from the speaker, the bluetooth signal will be lost and create an annoying, static-filled experience!
  2. Have all rangers (other than ER) outside to energetically greet campers and their families as they arrive.
  3. Make sure that an appropriate number of rangers have ProCare on their phones so that parents never have to wait more than a few seconds to be checked in.
  4. Designate Adventure Guides to be the drop off/pick up volunteer for their grade, and to walk all campers to their classroom, and at the end of the day, walk all campers to the curbside pickup area when their parents pull up to the curb.

At the time of printing, we do not know what COVID modifications will be required for the summer of 2022. We anticipate that hand hygiene stations will be set up at the entrance of the facility, so that campers can clean their hands before they enter. If a sink with soap and water is not available, provide hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol next to parent sign-in sheets. We typically provide ample sanitizer for camp, but if the supply runs low, we may need you to pick some up on your way to/from camp and be reimbursed. Keep hand sanitizer out of children’s reach and supervise use.
